Notice that even category 1 hurricanes routinely destroy transformers and other high voltage equipment despite negligible structural damage. If you create a current in one direction you get a magnetic wave perpendicular to the direction of current. They're not waves they're vortices, that's why photons can be both particles and waves, because they're vortices. If the universe is holographic the vortex itself is the prototypical interference pattern.

And you're proposing that magnetic fields cause atmospheric rotation by what mechanism?

Magnetic fields are coupled to atmospheric rotation. What mechanism? The holistic interaction of the angular momentum of the sun, the earth and the moon.

Yes, what mechanism. How do you propose that a magnetic field imposes motion upon the gases of the atmosphere, in vortices specifically.

That's gravity, not electromagnetism.
