Solely feeling hatred or anger for an “enemy” does no good for anyone. You need to study and understand them. In so doing, you may just come to admire how they operate, even if you disagree with it.
It’s called humoring an idea without necessarily agreeing with it. For example, if you’re trying to catch a criminal, you may need to start thinking like one. Etc. Etc.
