I lived in Anchorage for ten years and can confidently say that Alaskan cities are shitholes. Its the rape capitol of the US and always in the top five for violent and property crimes. The neighborhoods don't have sidewalks or rain gutters resulting in large pools of standing water in the springtime that result in millions upon millions of mosquitos so that even if its not freezing cold you can't enjoy the outdoors unless you want 50 mosquito bites. There's vagrants and homeless people everywhere, you cannot walk from the grocery store to your car without being asked for money or cigarettes by fucking bums. They elect the fucking WORST people who stay in office for perpetuity. FUCK ALASKA.

Like cockroaches they reappear every springtime. The year I left when they re-opened the local AAA baseball field, they found a guy dead sitting in the dugout with a half-full bottle of vodka still between his legs. They didn't know how long he had been there... a week or since last christmas because he froze. Same winter another bum crawled into one of those cardboard box-crusher bins with the hydraulic press to keep warm and went to sleep. He woke up dead after an employee made a deposit and turned the thing on.
