Well, what have we got, for and against the proposition?
Pro: the existence of aliens on or around Earth
- Countless sightings of UFOs of all kinds every year since the 1940s.
- Credible eye-witness encounters with aliens by respected, intelligent individuals.
- Measurements of alien craft on RADAR.
- Photographs of alien craft, and aliens.
- Film and video of alien craft, and aliens.
- Materials supposed to have been implanted in the bodies of human beings by aliens.
- There is nothing in the laws of nature that prohibits visits to Earth by alien beings.
Con: against the existence of aliens on or around the Earth
- No alien corpse that has been positively identified and certified.
- No credible film or video showing close up the exterior or interior of alien spacecraft.
- Most unsolved UFOs are fuzzy dots of light bouncing around and going in and out of focus.
- The difficulties in traveling the enormous distances from other star systems are virtually insurmountable by any known technology.
- If there are aliens, why haven't they contacted us and revealed themselves?
- Why would aliens abduct gap-toothed banjo players from the Ozarks just to give them anal probes?
- Most clear photos and films of supposed space craft have been proven to be fakes.
Carl Jung wrote about UFOs shortly before he died. His conclusion -- something was going on, but it was a psychological phenomenon engendered by our collective fear of the future ... a psychological phenomenon, that had a physical component (he referred to records of RADAR recordings of UFOs). He was unable to explain how a psychological phenomenon can have a physical component.
