if you listen, they're talking about turning on the light, also it looks like the door is cracked so they aren't locked in. When my kids were young we had a baby monitor in their rooms so we could hear them if there was something wrong. That's not bad parenting that's attentive parenting. Children the age of these little girls are highly prone to mischief and all kinds of hi jinx in the middle of the night. It gives parents peace of mind when they can check on their well being with a camera.
