Not the first time I've read about these giant stone balls. Have any of these archaeologists ever managed to figure out or guess where the stones were likely sourced from?

I think it is contested whether they are naturally occurring or man-made. What do you think?

Decoration? Maybe. We've got plenty of wealthy people and government bureaucrats wasting money on public modern art master pieces. The archaeologists will need to identify likely quarry sites for the various stones for that first though. If they're finding these things near ancient structures, those could've been ball bearing components to construction machines used in construction of those ancient structures.
