One of the many reasons I hated living in the police state of NJ. I actually had to learn to drive there and insisted on spending a lot of time driving in PA so I could learn left hand turns and to pump my own damned gas. If I had to get gas in Jersey, I had to roll the window down only enough to exchange money or debit card so the towel heads wouldn't reach in and grab my boobs. (The window thing was told to me by the driving instructor my mom hired from Sears. That dude was awesome, and yep I heard about the boob thing from girls at the mall, so it did happen, but I had been warned.)
Do they still not let you pump your own gas in nj b/c of 'gas pumper union bs?' I've always prepared before and had enough gas to just get thru the state for like a couple decades now. I-95 is miserable headed north into jersey, the land of no left turns...
According to my brother who still lives in that hellhole, it's the only state left where you can't pump your own.
Peoplealways think I'm nuts when I say there are no lefts in NJ and that I thought all U turns were illegal in driving, period, for the longest time.
The last time I stopped in Jersey was at a McDonald's a couple decades ago. I could see a McDonald's down the street from the McDonald's I was eating at. You could see one McDonald's from the other b/c there was no where on either stretch of road to make a left of a u-turn. Crazy.
Oregon won’t let you pump your own gas either.
