I think this is what you call weaponized incompetence. There was either a mind boggling series of coincidences each with a probability close to zero, or a plan was set in motion to create an environment that would allow an attempt to be made on Trump's life. It was supposed to "succeed" and now they are panicking and trying to obfuscate and throw anyone under the bus they can. They'll probably target the local police, who are probably not very competent, but had no business being involved more than guarding a door or two (which they didn't do).

It looks like the Secret Service had its clinging on, probably to "guide" the investigation. She should have resigned on the spot, and failing that Biden should have fired her. But that hasn't happened.

Their excuses so far are lame and stupid. The fucking roof was "too sloped" for snipers to be positioned on... fuck off.

This has striking similarities to the JFK assassination. Regular security not present, temp guys do a half assed job and the "lone gunman" just happens to find the perfect location not covered by the security detail.
