Tried to? They guy literally admitted that he sat down with the FOIA lady and discussed how to evade FIOA, then sent emails (that could be FOIA'd to his colleagues detailing how to communicate without it being able to be FOIA'd).
These people should be marched into the town square and hanged publicly for what they have done. NONE of it was an accident, they ALL knew what they were doing and were actively trying to hide their actions as they were doing them. This is what is legally referred to as consciousness of guilt.

Not to dox myself but having worked in gov for far longer than I would like. They do intentionally make a effort to make sure some com's cant be FOIA'ed The majority of federal offices that use Google Suite have history turned off by default for all employees so you can't FOIA it. They will claim its because of cost of storage or whatever but they are lying to you.
