Seems like im posting about SNAP/EBT a lot this month. More data showing that this program should probably be completely rebuilt and all of the changes to allow buying things like junk food/soda/candy..etc. should be reversed immediately.

Got to love that clickbait title though. No one you would tell this to would be shocked. I bet if you did a man-on-the-street and asked 200 people maybe 10 would be shocked.

From the post:

>An alarming study has spotlighted how 42 million food stamp recipients spend their welfare handouts on ultra-processed junk food. Coca-Cola, Sprite and other soft drinks are the most commonly-bought items via the $135 billion-a-year Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), a new study says. Candy, potato chips, frozen pizza, ice cream, cookies, and other ultra-processed food dominates the top 20 items, says a report from the Economic Policy Innovation Center (EPIC).

They should stop being cucks and slash it to zero.

How much do these bums get per month? Do they get their rents covered plus some amount for food on those cards?

Worse. TANF ("food stamps") gives you more for every child you irresponsibly pop out.

I don't know. I've as far as I know never been on any kind of EBT/Stamps. My parents just both worked 3+ jobs to keep us fed.

I have heard on various posts/news its anywhere from like $30/week to like $400/week. No idea what the criteria is though.

I was on food stamps for a few years, Iwas able to buy meat, fruit and veggies back then. Then they cut them to $20/month. Now I eat meat maybe every couple weeks or so and usually ground meat or chicken. Seems they cut senior food stamps and increased for the browns.

It’s actually not as bad as I figured it would be. Not much fruit or veggies

It's not a shock at all. The fatter or older someone is, the higher the chances of using food stamps.

Shocking to whom? Everyone knows this.
