The level of incompetancy was wild. Even setting the wokeness aside (and that's a big set aside), they paid billions of dollars for an IP that if just done to the "it was fine" level would print money. Then had zero plan and just threw a trilogy out with not even like a basic unified story treatment. There was better planning for the story arch of Sunday funnies.

You make a good point. A lot of the failures are from the top, and about not working coherently. They wrote a script, started filming only to scrap it all together and restart something different. If they stopped to review and then put it all in motion, they would have had a better (probably only "just okay") outcome. And also cheaper.

It's interesting to see that happening. There's enough evidence now that audiences don't want this woke garbage. A new series or movie in the exact vein of the old would probably make a fortune, but they continue to chose making trash that fails.
