Andor the show is a mediocre effort at best. Andor the character is a rather sad little man who, with the exception of the first scene in the 1st episode, has virtually no agency and drifts blandly from situation to situation. Since the show is named after him you'd expect he'd play a more significant role, but he's mostly just a vehicle to hang plot progression on to.
Scenes in general run way too long for no reason that I can tell except to pad out episodes. Dialogue is clunky, which would be excusable if the scenes were short and to the point but they are not. And there is virtually no tension leading up to and during action scenes, with the perhaps exception of the already mentioned first scene.
What Andor the show is not is another flat out desecration of Star Wars. This can be the only reason that I can think of why people, such as OP, sing its praises.
It does look pretty though.
It is a bit odd that the show is named Andor when characters like Mon Mothma and Dedra Meero have just as prominent roles. I think they are doing an okay job of showing Andor's character development from a troubled miscreant who mostly looks out for himself to someone who will ultimately join the cause of the rebellion which he ends up giving his life for.

Kind of nice for a change!
