Edge of pants stunningly good cheorographing fight scenes.
Genius characters like darth maul
Negatives. The romance was terrible. The scripts at times were immature.... The actor for anakin wasn't good.
I've done a deep dive into Hayden Christiansens filmography. He's not a terrible actor. You notice how normally good actors (ewan mcgregor, samuel jackson, natalie protman) all act so wooden in star wars and deliver their lines like they're in a play? I think it's all Lucas' fault. He wanted the actors to say the lines exactly how he had written them, but the writing was too melodramatic to come out naturally.
The only shining actors were Liam neison and Ian McDiarmid imho
I agree. They're great. I just think all the actors could have done better, if they were given more freedom to deliver their lines in a way that felt natural to them.
