I stated this in s/movies, but I think all star wars matters. You don't have to like every movie or piece of media that comes out, but it's all part of the history of the star wars franchise now. It's like the star wars holiday special or star wars: droids. They suck, but we can look back on them and talk about them without getting overly emotional. I just don't understand why these "fans" that have been bitching and moaning since the phantom menace even still watch star wars.

I love the prequels. For all their faults, I think they really "open up" the star wars universe. The clone wars tv show expands it even more. I was a kid when the prequels came out. The nostalgia is real.

They're infinitely better than the sequels.

It's like you guys live to shit on the sequels. They weren't great. Disney botched them. The mandolorian's good. Let's move on.

I purposefully didn't mention the sequels in my post because I'm tired of listening to people complain.

Shutup Disney faggot. They killed my childhood and now i'll never be able to take my sons to a good new Star Wars movie.

Lucas gave them three scripts and they ignored them.

Then why are you still watching star wars? Stop watching star wars, man, if it makes you so angry.

Ever see the 'anti cheese' edit of the prequels?

[–] 1 pt

No. That sounds interesting.

It's good. Removes some of the cheesy bits such as the goofy aliens speaking and other stuff. If you can find a copy it's worth watching.

You got a link? I'm looking. I've found a handful of fan edits. Not sure which one's the right one.

I also like them. But; I am HUGE fan of Palpatine/Sidious.

Never forget that Palpatine wasn't even going to be the real villian in the Prequels.

Jarjar was going to be Darth Plageus. But the (((audience))) didn't like him enough. Would have been a big redpill at the time of the Bush Administration for people to find out that the "clown" was actually pulling the strings the whole time. Plenty of evidence too, I love this video that talks about it (youtu.be)

Remember that all his animation was done on purpose, so why was he mouthing exactly what people were saying (Sith Mind Trick). This is just one example. Also he was pretty much solely responsible for making Palpatine dictator among other things.

If that guy making Mandalorian had any balls he'd make it canon.

Otherwise I fucking love all of Episodes 1-6. Probably one of the greatest film anthology that will ever be made. Lord of the Rings doesn't count, the films are great but their source material the books are better. Lots of subtle redpills and normies that like the Sith and the Empire actually make it easier for us to win them over to more National Socialist/Fascist political leanings too.

I liked Episode 1 on its own merits

I like it. It introduces the jedi council, the jedi temple. Young obi wan. Darth maul! The podracing was cool. And I'm a big apologist for the gungans. I liked the war between the gungans and the battle droids.

Naboo architecture and shop design... Mmm

[–] 1 pt

Shop design?

Prequels were amazing because.

Score. Omg

Plotline. We knew how it will end but still the plot was never predictable.

Rise of palatine was excellent story telling.

Brilliant effects.

Original sets.

Edge of pants stunningly good cheorographing fight scenes.

Genius characters like darth maul

Negatives. The romance was terrible. The scripts at times were immature.... The actor for anakin wasn't good.

I've done a deep dive into Hayden Christiansens filmography. He's not a terrible actor. You notice how normally good actors (ewan mcgregor, samuel jackson, natalie protman) all act so wooden in star wars and deliver their lines like they're in a play? I think it's all Lucas' fault. He wanted the actors to say the lines exactly how he had written them, but the writing was too melodramatic to come out naturally.

The only shining actors were Liam neison and Ian McDiarmid imho

I agree. They're great. I just think all the actors could have done better, if they were given more freedom to deliver their lines in a way that felt natural to them.
