I don't doubt attendance is down for the NFL, but I take these pictures with a grain of salt. We don't know when during the game they are taken. Many teams have empty seats at kickoff because the drunk tailgaters are still stumbling into the stadium.

And in the southern states it was hot ... and most fans don't show up for their loser teams, who would pay $500 to watch the Dolphins play ?

It's not nearly that much, stubhub has tickets for Dolphins games for around 30 bucks. Maybe it was higher for the opener.
