I see the ocean right there. What about the tides during hurricanes that often hit the texas coastline and cause massive damage. You'd think that building it the flat areas more north where there are old dry oil wells where the land is relatively flat and likely cheaper. It wouldn't take a huge amount of fuel to be 100 miles north to hit orbit and the cheaper land and less chance of tidal flooding would make it a much more logical area to build.
