Finally got through the Starliner report. And hooboy. It's bad. What a read. Really nothing else like it.

The root cause of it is: (1) Space is hard and it turns out one cannot just make a capsule like that. Boeing's previous expertise in spacecraft building wasn't applicable.

TLDR; We never went to the moon and because we faked it all we are showing we are not smart enough to do it. That and we fired all the White mem.

What do you expect from Boeing? They have been downhill ever since the McDonnell Douglas merger or whatever it was.

Boing doesn't do anything because it's national pride where some cash could be made on the side - everything boing does is a profit center. They squeeze programs until they cry and break.

Glenn said it best, and it's more true now that it ever was before: "I felt exactly how you would feel if you were getting ready to launch and knew you were sitting on top of two million parts -- all built by the lowest bidder on a government contract."
