From the post:

>Among other things, the James Webb Space Telescope is designed to get us closer to finding habitable worlds around faraway stars. From its perch a million miles from Earth, Webb’s huge gold-coated mirror collects more light than any other telescope put into space. The Webb telescope, launched in 2021 at a cost of more than $10 billion, has the sensitivity to peer into distant planetary systems and detect the telltale chemical fingerprints of molecules critical to or indicative of potential life, like water vapor, carbon dioxide, and methane. Webb can do this while also observing the oldest observable galaxies in the Universe and studying planets, moons, and smaller objects within our own Solar System.

Why don’t they point it at the fucking moon since we have never actually mapped it at high resolution, for reasons.

High-rez images of the Moon have been publicly available for well over a decade dude. Get out from under the rock. (Much of this is from 2007).

Also I guess your and my definition of high res is different.

We now have 1” resolution. Back in 07 we had 1ft.

Hose images are shit.

I’m sorry where is the flag we planted? And the trash we left? Where ms that in the images.

Also in addition to nasa saying we don’t have the tech to continue moon, they will say the goals are different, and they don’t want to put a lunar orbiter to “rely” data.

And since they don’t have a good map of the moon work needs to be done to make it so they can identify the best place to land.

And it’s an autonomous lander not like the old one.

Sure. Sure bro.
