I remember as a kid in the late '60s and early 70's the libs having a shit fit at every opportunity that we were spending all that money on space instead of giving it to the poor and inner city folks to lift them out of poverty (so the Dems could take their chunk). LBJs Great Society changes had just been put in place, over-promised and underfunded of course.
