BTW, sometimes the moon is smaller, in what's known as an . And since tidal drag is speeding up the moon, which paradoxically makes the moon orbit even further away, the apparent size of the moon is slowly becoming smaller as time goes by, while accumulating helium in the sun is actually making it larger.
