Ahh, so you claim they were aware of the belts at the time?
Interesting, given that revealed that most of them weren't even aware of the belts in the first place.
Kind of strange given that such an oversight would've killed every member on board. I guess they were all a bunch of dopes on a boat.
Very false. The people who navigated the launch, which are not the astronauts, knew full well. Remember, they didn't even want the astronauts to be able to steer anything and everything was to be automated or remote. They did not fully understand the dangers but they knew enough about radiation and how to mitigate the bulk of it. Which they did. To further minimize the risk, they navigated through a smaller section (via angle/trajectory) which minimized both exposure time and peak radiation levels. The shielding used is highly effectively against this type of radition.
In a nutshell, anyone who makes an issue of the Van Allen Belt and early space flights are profoundly ignorant and purposely misleading.
There's no shortage of documentation and videos covering this topic in extreme detail. So it's rather disturbing it's coming up again. I believe such content has repeatedly been provided to the flatearth sub to debunk the position you offer.
I've been where you're at.
It is amazing to see it all once you're past the spell. You think you're awake now? It gets better, my friend.
Jesus is King my nigga
lol.
I'm sincerely trying to figure out your angle. Are you distracting from something or just enjoy trolling people?
It makes sense they weren't aware of them. You're expecting former airforce test pilots from the 60s and 50s to possess high level physics knowledge from their time in the air force lol.
No, I expect that they would know about the Van Allen belts because if they miscalculated even a little bit, they would all die.
Unless we are supposed to believe that the dudes who flew out to the MOON were a bunch of frat bros who were just following orders.
The apologists won't let up lol.
It was faked.
No, I expect that they would know about the Van Allen belts because if they miscalculated even a little bit, they would all die
they would all die
Prove it.
It's not something you can calculate. In a newtonian universe where you can predict the motion of every atom in the universe sure, but quantum physics throws that out the window. Solar storms are currently incalculable w/ our current tech. If one flared up and the ISS was in it's path it would kill everyone on board, we'd likely have some grid problems b/c of EMP, and we'd be seeing the aurora borealis crazy south near the equator. A strong enough solar flare could essentialy blow our atmosphere off like a birthday cake candle if we found ourself in it's direct path.
