um why havent we even tried to go back to the moon? i mean a moon base would be a perfect thing to start with to prove colonization works
because there isn't much there in terms of minerals? now an asteroid, that's probably worth intercepting
I don't really see the point of Mars until we have worked out how UFOs work, but we do need a backup plan if we ruin Earth, which is looking pretty likely
Moon has some advantages. Humans deteriorate rapidly in zero g. One sixth the gravity doesn't sound like much, but it could be enough to stave off most of the health problems. Could make a shipyard on the moon rather than in orbit. Pros and cons to both.
Have to go there once to go “back” there.
