Im not rocket scientist but 29 engines seems like 29 points of failure. Iirc the russians tried something similar with their rocket for their moon mission in the 60s and it was a failure.

Raptor engines are way more efficient and can throttle their thrusts.

They are also pretty safe now. They flawlessly flew tons of Falcon9 boosters in the past 5 years.

They usually account for that by overdesigning the thing. It can probably still deliver a payload with 3 engines malfunctioning.
