'The tragedy' that happened at one of the High Schools I went to was a drunk driving accident. Everyone was drunk at a party, but they were all gonna go to someone else's house. The guy driving was drunk, and wanted to leave. The drunk girl was being indecisive, and couldn't decide whether to go or stay. She was halfway in the rear passenger seat, with the door still open. The guy was getting pissed, said "get in or get out, cuz I'm leaving now!" and peeled off. She was halfway in and halfway out, and the open door slammed into a mailbox, and apparently slammed into her. Just so awful to think about, because it all happened so quickly, and so stupidly, but also, so understandably. What teenager hasn't been indecisive? What teenager hasn't been short tempered with a drunk indecisive girl? And, for one night's worth of bad teenage decisions, she is dead, and he has to live with guilt of killing her for the rest of his life.
