L-Theanine? Does it work for you? I've taken it for some time now but I can't tell if it did anything.
That is kind of a complicated question, at least for me.
It does work, and it doesn't,
Given how long we have known each other, you certainly know I am an alcoholic.
That is to be expected.
That being said, it doesn't matter if I am drinking or not drinking at any given point in time. Any activity I do, I will pursue, alcoholically.
That includes drinking coffee. I will drink coffee, because it is pleasurable, until it feels like shit.
L-Theanine helps me avoid feeling like shit, until I do. I don't feel 'jittery' when I take it in advanced.
I would recommend it for any normal to heavy caffeine user. As far as I know, it doesn't have any negative affects.
Interesting. I haven't had any significant amount of caffeine for nearly two years now. I don't drink coffee or sodas and rarely drink (unsweetened) tea. I only consume alcohol on an irregular basis, usually just a couple of beers or a glass of wine every couple of months. I used to be a moderately heavy drinker in my younger years, but that's behind me now as are my partying days.
I started L-Theanine to see if would help improve my sleep by settling my mind a bit at night, but I don't think it worked that way for me. Hard to tell really.
I also take L-Arginine, but that stuff tastes horrible. I was doing the powder form but switched to capsules because it's foul tasting even if mixed with something else. That does have an effect, but it's not magic. I probably get enough L-Arginine from food anyway.

I'm old enough to be your neighbor.
I just want to keep my old self from feeling too old as I get older and more neighborly.
