Yep, I got two editions of The Dictionary of American Slang” at a second hand store for about $3 each. The selection of books in those stores can be pretty amazing.

The only place to shop for books is second-hand book shops. In a new book store, 98% of the books are pure tripe not even with a single quick reading. Second-hand book stores have a selection of older hardcover books that have survived for decades, or even for centuries, because their owners valued them and kept them. All my favorite books were bought secondhand.
