I think the age of consent should be no more than 3 year swing after the age of 21. So 21 could date age 18, that goes for male or female. The made up age of consent of 18 is arbitrary really, same with the drinking age if 21. I think family makes the choice if a child of theirs would be ready for and mature enough for a relationship.
