We used to have this in the U.S. I remember the elderly couple who had an ice cream freezer outside their store. One day they were shocked to find they had been cleaned out.

We had it in rural CT for a bit. I remember a lady selling flowers out of a stand in front of her house unattended. People used to bring her extra vases and leave them. Just a bit further down the road there was a couple selling jam and honey unattended. They had been doing it for nearly a decade. I noticed the stands vanished one day and an article ran in our little loacal paper (2000ish) that they had been stolen from too many times lately.

I'm sure it was just a coincidence that I started seeing a changing demographic at the little library I worked for. How the hell they managed to infiltrate I'll never know but man they were ghetto out in the rural countryside in tiny towns.
