Mankind likes and needs a warm climate for stuff to live and grow. Machines or computers need to be cooled down to not melt and compute better. What if certain entities use AI much longer already as we think and therefore listen to AI advice and act accordingly, but are being fooled by AI to create a more electro-habitable environment, which would be much cooler? Does that make sense?
