Theres a sere school near me, ive talked to some of the guys going through it on occasion and they all seemed to be enjoying it. First time i talked to them they were butchering a free range cow in the national forest. Im assuming the cattleman was paid and aware.
Doubtful.
Why is that?
First, cows are not something you'd hunt in a survival situation. Small game like rabbits squirrels rodents. Since you will not be using your firearms to kill anything as to not give away your position you need to trap your food.
Second. Killing a cow and butcher the animal is huge undertaking and isn't as fast as one thinks.
Third. No once carries that much cash on them while in the field.
