I wasn't fully aware of his ravings, I'll have to look for that. Though I can't say I am surprised, it sounds like he slipped into schizophrenia from all the stress. I've witnessed this pretty closely myself, and it's fucking scary how it can manifest in people. He may have believed that God would step in to do the hard part for him and stopped short.
