It could be exactly what they want is the whites with guns to get mad and act out, then crack down on domestic terrorism and gun control.
They over estimate their chances of getting the genie back in the bottle once it's out without also destroying the entire country and themselves at the same time. They have an extremely poor record of putting genies back in bottles.
They have a lot more power this time, though. Not saying it matters, because Taliban. But you’re right that we could end up fulfilling some scorched earth prophecy.
