It's not just zoomers, I know people across all age ranges that probably couldn't boil water. They cater to the absolute lazy.
It's sad because home cooking is easy, cheaper and better for you. They're literally paying more to be less healthy. A night out with a meal, was that, out. Eating food you didn't cook in your home is beyond retarded.
I'm not saying your wrong. But let me draw you a picture. Monday - Friday you're up at 6:00 AM, In your car by 6:30 AM, and at work anywhere between 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM. You have an hour lunch, but if you didn't meal prep and bring a lunch you will be eating something expensive and bad for you. You leave the office at 5:15 PM because you always have some final words with someone at work. Run to your car too fast at 5:00 PM on the dot and your performance reviews will suffer. You arrive home between 7:00 PM-8:00 PM depending on traffic. If you're smart you can get a grocery trip in on your way home but that's 30-45min onto your drive time. Get home, prep, cook, eat, clean. If you do it right you can get a routine of grocery shopping on the weekend and prep as much as you can Sunday night, but I found that I still needed to make at least one trip to the grocery store at some point in the week. Not to mention, I found freezing my prepped meals to be more of a pain than cooking again on Thursday for Friday.
I did that for years until I realized how little time I actually had to myself each month to do things I wanted to rather than what I needed to. That's about the time I learned I could be just fine eating raw sauerkraut and just some simple cooked protein once a day.
