Dog and cat products such as their meat, fur and skin are a multi billion dollar industry for china. Trump banned the importation of these products.. They don't need to eat their pets any more than they need to eat tiger penis. They do it because they can and want to. the chinese are not starving. Chinese are vicious human beings. Never doubt it.

In the 80s I lived in New Zealand. Chinese and Korean big commercial fishing ships would pull in to NZ ports often to replenish fuel and fresh food. When they left a couple of days later there were no strays dogs or cats roaming around anymore.
