If Hitler's goal of rounding up the Jews was to kill them, why not just kill them instead of rounding them up and bothering to build camps to hold them?

I'm aware of the Balfour Declaration (which created a homeland for jews in British-ruled Mandatory Palestine) and the Haavara Agreement (which allowed German jews to transfer wealth to Palestine). However, they weren't forced to go there, and I haven't seen any paperwork saying the idea was to send them all to Palestine. They just wanted them out, preferably out of Europe altogether.

There were rat lines besides the Haavara Agreement, and the rat lines were not only fueled by the money of the refugees, but by private British and US money (Zionists). The Germans got fuel and trucks in exchange for refugees who then got smuggled into Palestine. The main problem for the Zionists was not the supply of refugees, but the limiting of Jewish entry into Palestine by the British.
