They have the means, and they are libertine sadists who see everyone else as disposable animalistic automatons... If they aren't physically limited or by their own morality then there is really no reason to assert that such things, like underground modern-day colosseums with trafficked humans, or human-hunting islands, can not happen.
Squid Game is too gimmicky & theatrical to be real though and seeing someone shot probably doesn't titillate a sadistic degenerate, like that, enough.
it comes down to playing with hope squid game is like that, its like the utimate sadistic trolling. you put the bait out there and wait for the prey to bite, sure its gimmicky and theatrical but that would be exactly what would entertain these sadists
They are just like Serial Killers, especially the ones that kidnap & enslave victims for a long period of time, except they are above the law. That element of psychological anguish, where the victims are tempted with false hope, or persuaded/ coerced into acting like a savage murderous animal, or where victims are forced to choose between being tortured and horrifically killing someone/ something they love, those elements are true.
That's why I hate all those 'Horror' movies with torture, gore and shit like that. I never watched them. I was first introduced to such 'possibilities' when I read about Serial Killer cases and the testimonies of the victims of SRA, so it's never entertainment for me. I am reminded how, in all of human history, someone innocent probably suffered something like that.
