It's not for everyone and sometimes you just don't feel like maintaining it anymore. I get that. I still like my privacy a lot more than the pain/complexity that can come with self-hosting some things.

I have lots of small (and not so small) apps that I’d like to self-host, especially because many of the apps you use nowadays have shifted from being something you download and install to something you need to host somewhere. But every time I plan for that, it never quite works out. The main reason? Time.
I already spend the entire week in front of a computer doing computer things. I love that, it pays the bills, and I consider myself extremely lucky that I got to work with something that I love so much.
