That's what you were implying. This 'holier than thou' mentality of Orthodoxy and Catholicism is complete rubbish and their beliefs have no justification in scripture. We keep the Commandments to avoid God's wrath and so we can be in good grace with the Lord. According to the Bible we all technically deserve hell for our sins, it's only by repenting and turning to Jesus is what guarantees us salvation. And repentance means turning from unbelief to belief in Christ, not repenting of your individual sins. Once Jesus knows you, you're going to Heaven no matter what you do, though we will pay for our sins in THIS life and not the next. With Jesus we have eternal security, i.e. once saved always saved. Acts 16:30 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Romans 10:9-10 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. John 10:28 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
