You're right. In this specific context, as per this video, I would advise saying NOTHING and immediately contacting a competent criminal defense attorney. You probably wouldn't have your lawyer present while you got initially approached by investigators. What I meant was that if you were arrested, charged etc you should not ever try to make deals with prosecution or argue in your own defense. As you have pointed out, better to let the lawyer do the talking and only speak when he instructs.
Sometimes you can avoid prosecution or get charges dropped very quickly if you have a criminal defense attorney on retainer and don't incriminate yourself.
