They have you every waking moment, if not more so, so we'll count that as 16hr/day. Taking anything over 8hr/day as time-and-a-half, that comes out to ~$3/hr to start.

And I'm not sure how that "bonus" works. Is it an advance on the pay they'll give you, or something to entice you into the 4-year contract?

if ur looking to join the marines at 18 or with parental permission 17 you don't know much. There are wealthy people that use service as currency in the political world. More often than not they were wealthy before they joined. I mean everyone should avail themselves of every opportunity that benefits them. (ofc that's no absolute statement) That's just common sense when you truly believe and set the actual moral implications of your actions aside.

Thanks to our incredibly crappy tax law, it's indentured servitude. They give you 25,000, taxed on your side. And if you don't meet the reqs, or dont stay long enough, you have to pay it back. Since you never got the full amount though, you end up paying more than you ever received in the bonus. Most of the (((benefits))) you get aren't even benefits, but basic stuff you need to be remotely useful for the kikes. Sure they pay for housing ... if you enjoy living in barracks and half broken down housing with 4 other privates sitting on top of you
