Another thing is, we were always told the half life of nuclear destruction was over 200,000 years. They sure built back over the destruction pretty quick! And shouldn't the population been dropping dead from the left over radiation in the soil pretty quickly?

A lot goes into how much radiation is left behind by a nuke. We have the tech to leave very little behind already and have for a long time. Most of the shit you were told in school and Hollywood is bullshit.

Oh, also, obviously how the radiation And radioactive particles are released matters a lot as well.
