We didn't lose the technology. That is well documented. We did, however, lose the tweaks and on the fly engineering that made the technology concepts turn into real life and usable technology. All that writing in the margins, all those notes scribbled on the back documents and all that wisdom past orally from senior engineer to foreman...that is the magic we lost. It can't be replaced or reimagined. Go ahead and believe the false narrative the jews tell you about White man's greatest achievement. The problem with your reasoning is it doesn't account for 3rd, 4th, 5th order effects. One system tweaked in such a way effects another sytem in a way that would need to be compensated for. The precision required would have made formal documentation absolutely necessary. Tweaking a system on race day and it working better than expected and not being able to reproduce the result is far more possible than doing the same thing only orders of magnitudes more complex.

My favorite are the original Apollo tapes that have impossibly fast communication between astronauts and ground control.

We also made ZERO space suits since the apollo missions. Every space mission since has used the old space suits, slowly cannibalising them for spare parts. Astronaut selection was limited by only those who could fit the remaining sizes.

The technology wouldn't have been maintainable. Old, using outdated equipment and support, knowledge that the engineers had but didn't write down. It'd be like reviving a vacuum-tube computer.

There is a problem involving the way young people don’t intuitively get high level math. Back in the slide rule days, the line between engineer and physicist was a little more blurry. I’m told math guys could intuit the answers to problems in the fly. Now folks can do math but not translate it into reality in their heads.
