Isnt heat the same as IR light? ISn't infrared just heat?

We perceive IR as heat, but IR isn't heat. IR excites molecules that can absorb it, and heat is produced by excited molecules.

I don't believe so. Heat is thermal energy. IR is EM radiation. Not all heat is radiation. Some radiation makes heat.

IIRC, IR is photons.
