The problem, at least to me, is that so called 'science' today can't be trusted. Like so much else, it's become nothing but a money pit where the scientists in question find the results that are expected by those who foot the bill.

Science is repeatable and provable. Throwing out what is proven to be correct is wrong. However, you are correct in that a newer theoretical science, like climate science, is not really provable as science and it akin to psychiatry in its accuracy which is based on suppositions. Old timey science is still the real thing.
