This was news 100 years ago. Gold bearing pyrites have been processed at industrial scale for ages. Not all pyrite contains gold. You need to be able to grind it to pulp and recover exposed gold with wet chemistry. Not something you can really do as a hobby. Search for vat leaching gold for explanation.
