poisons, as well, can be injected or ingested. all three are synonyms for the other. this is all a matter of preference really.
"Toxin" is a synonym for "poison" & a synonym for "venom," but a "poison" is not a synonym for "venom." A poison is ingested, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin. A venom is (generally by animal) that is injected into the skin.
a cobra spits venom into prey's eyes. and plants also have venom.
poison is a synonym for venom for practical purposes. https://www.wordhippo.com/what-is/another-word-for/venom.html
as i said, this is merely a matter of preference. you use "toxic" and i will use "poisonous." really it is just a difference of one more syllable as all we are trying to accomplish is a warning for others to heed.
A cobra spits venom into it's prey's eyes
No, they spit at attackers, not prey; & in this case, it would be considered a "toxugen," not a venom.
