I will admit I do not have a ready scientific basis for the stance, it comes from philosophy. Specifically Hume and McTaggart, as well as my own musings on the topic. Though there was something I read regarding the possibility that the speed of light isn't constant from some physicist, decades ago, that also informs my position, but I can't recall his name or the title of the work.
I do not deny that there is some phenomena occurring, but I am of the opinion that this sort of science is presuming an awful lot about the nature of reality. I can accept having those discussions and making inquiries based on those assumptions, but do not want us to lose sight of the fact that they are assumptions.
