For all intents and purposes, the way the Lord has revealed it to me, it is a story that shows God's grace and mercy upon a disobedient and wicked civilization. God could've just destroyed them for their sins and left it at that, but He loved them and decided to show grace and mercy that they might turn to Him and repent of their wicked ways. It is a grievous sin to try and make yourself a God, just as satan tried. Thankfully, God didn't condemn them to hell right then and there. Just as Jesus Christ is full of grace and mercy towards us and willing to forgive us of all our sinful ways; if only we believe in Him and repent.
John 3:16-17 "For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For Jesus came into the world not to condemn it, but that it might be saved through Him."
Where does it say they were wicked and trying to make themselves gods? Sounds like they were just trying to build some cool shit.
Genesis 11:4 " And they said, "Come, let us build for OURSELVES a city, and a tower whose top WILL REACH INTO HEAVEN, and let us MAKE FOR OURSELVES A NAME; lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth."
For OURSELVES: there is absolutely nothing wrong with building a beautiful place for your family to grow and thrive...
WILL REACH INTO THE HEAVENS: what is wrong with wanting to be close to god? They aren't saying they are going to take over heaven or anything negative. Or it could be a figurative reaching to the heavens, as in building something super tall, which there is nothing wrong with that either...
MAKE FOR OURSELVES A NAME: once again, what is wrong with being proud of your accomplishments, and the family you have a created? Nothing...they didnt say, make a name for myself and abandon god. Do they have to end every sentence with "praise god" before god stops being pissed off?
Nothing you just wrote would indicate evil or trying to establish themselves as gods...you are just making shit up.
And then I believe further on it basically says god did it just so they dont get too successful...what kind of fucked up logic is that??
