the 2nd video i sent is pretty remarkable how the mass literally changes direction after the lead weights are placed.
to think that would have happened anyway is quite a stretch

i thought it was strange he didnt put the bowling balls very close. the phenomenon has a squaring affect, where the closer you are, the more radical the effect.
yes, after viewing this video, I would start to doubt the sincerity of the results of it too without having first-hand knowledge from experimenting on it myself through trial and error. I think if I was there and tinkered long enough it would become evident to me how mass influenced it, but with some changes.
For example i can also see why cavenish originally put the balls behind a glass to prevent wind
