I think we have different definitions of what density means.
imagine 2 contractors arguing about the distance of a 2x4. one guy says, it's measured in inches. See, this piece here is 60" long another guy says, no it's measured in feet. See, this piece here is 5' long
density is just mass put into a specific volume of space.
you are saying it's not mass, but it's density. but density is a unit of measurement that is used to describe mass, and how much space it is taking up.
